Rogalin poplar (Populus rogalinensis) is a member of the Salicaceae family, recognized as a natural hybrid between white and black poplar. It is highly valued in modern forestry for its exceptional biomass production rates and genetic vigor, making it suitable for short-rotation plantations.

The species requires deep, moist, and nutrient-rich soils to thrive. It performs best in floodplain environments where the water table remains relatively high throughout the year, ensuring the tree's physiological needs for transpiration are consistently met during peak summer months.

Regarding climatic conditions, the Rogalin poplar is adapted to temperate climates. It exhibits significant resilience to cold snaps, but the primary factor for achieving rapid diameter increment is a long, warm growing season with adequate rainfall distribution.
