Sowing of Acer capillipes seeds is performed in the autumn immediately after harvest, as fresh seeds exhibit the highest germination rates. In nursery conditions, the seeds require pre-stratification at temperatures between +1 and +5 degrees Celsius for 90–120 days to overcome dormancy.

For spring sowing, stratified seeds are placed in prepared seedbeds at a depth of no more than 2–3 centimeters. It is crucial to maintain consistent substrate moisture to prevent the delicate young roots from drying out during the germination process.

To accelerate emergence, mulching the beds with peat or compost helps maintain a loose soil structure. The optimal sowing pattern involves spacing rows approximately 25–30 centimeters apart to allow for proper seedling care and weeding.

General maintenance includes sanitary pruning, which should be performed in early spring before active sap flow begins. Removing dead, damaged, or crossing branches promotes healthy growth and highlights the tree's unique, decorative bark patterns.

The main biological threats to the snakebark maple are fungal diseases, such as leaf spots and powdery mildew, which often occur when humidity levels are improperly managed. To prevent these, ensure proper spacing between trees to allow for adequate air circulation around the crown.

Pests frequently encountered on this species include leaf-eating insects, such as various caterpillars and weevils. In cases of significant infestation, the application of contact-action insecticides, following labels for ornamental plants, is recommended.

The bark, featuring its characteristic snake-like pattern, may be damaged by rodents during the winter. Using protective mesh or wrapping the trunk with specialized materials helps prevent severe mechanical damage that could lead to branch dieback.

Root rot is among the most dangerous conditions, often linked to soil waterlogging and inadequate drainage. If early signs of crown wilting appear, the root system should be inspected, and a fungicidal soil treatment should be applied if necessary.

Regular monitoring of the trees throughout the vegetation period allows for the early detection and management of infection hotspots. A healthy tree provided with balanced nutrition and proper hydration will possess the natural immunity required to combat most typical pathogens.
