This crop prefers a humid subtropical climate with mild winters. When introduced to artificial environments, the plant requires a stable temperature range between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius and protection from sudden temperature swings.

Soil requirements involve the use of fertile, well-drained substrates with a slightly acidic or neutral pH. Ensuring root system aeration is a critical factor, which is achieved by incorporating perlite or vermiculite into the potting mix.

For optimal development, the ficus requires intense yet diffused light. Direct sunlight during peak hours can cause leaf blade burns, therefore shading is strongly recommended during the summer period.
