The mechanism of action is based on disrupting cellular respiration processes in pathogenic microorganisms. Dichlone inhibits electron transport in the respiratory chain of fungal cells, leading to the suppression of their enzymatic systems.
The preparation has a marked inhibitory effect on the germination of phytopathogenic fungal spores, making it an effective preventive agent. The protective action of Dichlone persists on the surface of treated plant organs for some time after application.
In addition to fungicidal activity, some derivatives of the dichlone group exhibit limited insecticidal or acaricidal properties, which is due to their influence on the metabolism of insects and mites.
The substance is characterized by low systemic activity, so the main biological action is realized only through direct contact of pathogen spores with the treated leaf or fruit surface.
Dichlone is effective against a wide range of pathogens that cause rot, spots, powdery mildew, and scab. It is widely used for the treatment of orchards, berry crops, vegetables, and ornamental plants.

- Mycoses affecting seeds and seedlings during pre-sowing treatment
The preparation shows good results when used in integrated plant protection systems, where combining preparations is required to prevent the development of resistance in pathogens.
The use of Dichlone is relevant during periods of active plant growth when the risk of primary infection by fungal spores is at its highest.
An important aspect is preventive spraying during the vegetative period to create a reliable barrier against infection penetration into plant tissues.
Dichlone application rates depend on the type of crop, the severity of the infection background, and the spraying equipment used. Precise dosages should always comply with the regulations specified in the instructions for the specific commercial product.
In orchards, the frequency of treatment is usually 2-4 times per season with an interval of 10-14 days, due to the washing off of the preparation by precipitation and the growth of young shoots.
Optimal timing for application occurs before the start of flowering and immediately after, when pathogens spread most actively in humid conditions.
When preparing the working solution, it is necessary to strictly observe the temperature regime, as high air temperatures can accelerate the decomposition of active substances on the plant surface.

Dichlone is a substance that requires careful handling. When working with the preparation, it is necessary to use personal protective equipment for the skin, eyes, and respiratory system to avoid irritation.

Storage of Dichlone should be carried out in specialized dry warehouse premises at temperatures that exclude the degradation of the chemical compound.
Mixing Dichlone with highly alkaline preparations is not allowed, as this may lead to the chemical neutralization of the active substance and a sharp decrease in its fungicidal efficiency.
