Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain AT-332 is a highly potent biological control agent belonging to the group of spore-forming soil bacteria. This microorganism is known for its ability to aggressively colonize the rhizosphere, effectively forming a protective shield around the plant's root system.
The primary mechanism of action involves the synthesis of bioactive lipopeptides, including surfactins, iturins, and fengycins. These compounds act as natural antibiotics, directly targeting and disrupting the cell membranes of various pathogenic fungi and bacteria.
Additionally, this strain produces specialized extracellular enzymes, such as proteases and glucanases, which degrade the fungal cell walls. This enzymatic activity prevents the germination of fungal spores and stops the development of mycelium, effectively neutralizing the pathogen.
Beyond its direct antagonistic properties, the strain acts as a plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium (PGPR). It helps in the solubilization of essential nutrients like phosphorus, making them more bioavailable for the plant, and enhances the plant's natural immune response.

When mixing with other agrochemicals, compatibility testing is necessary. Some fungicides and bactericides can be detrimental to the living bacteria in the product, requiring specific application intervals to maintain efficacy.
Restrictions
Standard safety measures should be followed during application. Operators should wear basic protective gear, including gloves and a mask, to avoid accidental contact with the concentrated biological product.
Mixing the product with heavy chemical bactericides or highly toxic pesticides should be avoided, as these can kill the AT-332 strain. Such improper mixing results in a loss of biological efficacy and a waste of resources.
The prepared working solution should be applied immediately. Storing the mixture for long periods can deplete the nutrients available to the bacteria and lead to a significant decline in their overall metabolic activity.
The product should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the viability of the spores. Proper storage ensures that the shelf life is maximized and the product remains ready for use.
