The mechanism of action involves suppressing the enzyme activity of fungal cells. Mancozeb inhibits respiration processes within the fungal mitochondria, disrupting the metabolism of the pathogen.
Copper compounds act on pathogens by denaturing proteins and disrupting the permeability of cellular membranes, effectively stopping spore germination and mycelium growth.
By combining two distinct chemical classes, the risk of pathogens developing resistance is significantly reduced compared to using single-active-ingredient treatments.
