The mechanism of action involves the inhibition of mitochondrial electron transport. The compound disrupts oxidative phosphorylation in fungal cells, leading to rapid pathogen death and the cessation of its development.

Due to its mobility in the soil, etridiazole quickly reaches the root system of plants, creating a protective barrier around them. This provides reliable protection for seedlings against soil-borne infections at early developmental stages.

The substance has limited systemic movement within the plant, making its primary role the localized protection of the root system and seeds when applied to the substrate or soil.

Etridiazole is frequently used in complex formulations, as its narrow specialization allows for the effective suppression of pathogens that are resistant to other fungicide groups, such as phenylamides.

The use of etridiazole is particularly relevant under conditions of high soil moisture, where the risk of oomycete development increases significantly.

Application rates for etridiazole vary depending on the method: seed treatment, soil drenching, or incorporation directly into potting mixes during planting.

When used as a seed treatment, the product is applied directly to the seed surface, ensuring protection of the rhizosphere immediately upon germination.

In greenhouse operations, the fungicide is applied via soil drenching through drip irrigation systems or by surface spraying followed by soil incorporation.

Exact dosages depend on the concentration of the product in the specific formulation, the type of crop being grown, and the level of disease pressure within the greenhouse.
