Mode of action
Trichoderma asperellum strain T34 is a powerful biological fungicide based on a beneficial fungal agent. It acts by actively colonizing the rhizosphere, effectively creating a protective biological barrier against various soil-borne pathogens.
The mode of action involves mycoparasitism, where the fungus secretes specialized enzymes to degrade the cell walls of pathogenic fungi. Additionally, the strain produces bioactive metabolites that inhibit the germination and growth of fungal spores.
T34 also induces systemic acquired resistance in plants. By interacting with the root system, it triggers the plant's natural defense mechanisms, allowing for better stress tolerance and improved overall health throughout the growth cycle.
The strain excels in competing for space and nutrients. By rapidly occupying the environment around the roots, it deprives pathogenic organisms of resources, significantly reducing their ability to establish an infection.

What it targets

Rates and timing
Application rates depend on the method of delivery, such as soil drenching, substrate incorporation, or irrigation systems. Regular application intervals are recommended to maintain an optimal population density of the fungus in the soil.
Preventive application is strongly advised. Introducing the strain before the pathogen pressure reaches critical levels allows the fungus to establish a robust population, providing the most effective long-term disease management.
Restrictions
Compatibility with chemical fungicides is limited. Many synthetic broad-spectrum fungicides can kill beneficial fungi, rendering the treatment ineffective, so a significant interval between chemical and biological applications must be observed.
As a living organism, the product is sensitive to environmental factors. It should be stored in a cool, dark place to maintain viability. The prepared solution must be used promptly to ensure that spore concentration remains within effective levels.
