The substance works by inhibiting the pathogen's metabolism, specifically targeting ribosomal RNA synthesis. Furalaxyl disrupts the transcription process, which halts fungal cell division and leads to the pathogen's death.
The active ingredient is rapidly absorbed into plant tissues following application. Its systemic properties allow it to move acropetally, providing protection to both existing foliage and new growth.
Furalaxyl is frequently used in combination products, which helps to broaden the spectrum of activity and minimize the risk of disease resistance development.
