Mirids affect a vast range of crops, including vegetables, fruits, cereals, and industrial crops like cotton and sugar beet. Because they are sap-suckers, they can colonize plants at various stages of development. Their ability to move rapidly between crops makes them difficult to control, as they can quickly infest clean fields from adjacent wild vegetation.

The life cycle of Miridae follows a hemimetabolous pattern, consisting of the egg, nymph, and adult stages.
