Yield estimation is focused on biomass production per hectare per year. Given its life cycle, it provides a faster harvest cycle than many traditional tropical hardwoods used in sustainable forestry.

Fungal pathogens represent the most significant threat to Macaranga plantations, especially during seasons with extremely high humidity or poor canopy ventilation, leading to severe leaf spot diseases.
