Sverdlovskaya 37 is a meadow fescue intended for both seeding and turf creation. The plant belongs to the classic erect type with a slightly sprawling growth habit; stem height reaches 130 cm with a medium density (30–40 g/m² at planting). It has strong tufting, wide leaves, small flowers, and large grains (6–7 mm), which ensures good density and wear resistance. Seeds contain 100% pure genetic material without GMOs and comply with GOST‑12260‑81.
The yield of meadow fescue «Sverdlovskaya 37» is high: green mass ranges from 13.4 to 20.4 t/ha (maximum 35.6 t/ha), dry matter – from 4.5 to 6.0 t/ha (maximum 11.1 t/ha). Seed yield is 0.65 t/ha, with a maximum yield up to 0.8 t/ha. The plant germinates quickly – the first leaves appear as early as the third to fourth day after sowing, and flowering begins in the second to fourth year of life. The root system is powerful and deep, with numerous short roots, ensuring resistance to lodging.
The variety is well adapted to a wide range of soils: it grows on almost any soil except very dry sandy and loamy soils. On fertile soils, it can live for more than 15 years. Spring sowing is required at temperatures of 20–25 °C and soil moisture of 60–70%. To achieve maximum yield, nitrogen fertilization, soil moisture maintenance, and irrigation regime during growth periods must be observed. Despite low susceptibility to fungal infections, diseases may occur under high humidity (powdery mildew, leaf fungus). The variety is drought-resistant to a moderate degree and withstands cold and humid regions well.
«Sverdlovskaya 37» seeds are suitable for creating lawns in urban parks, on meadows, and garden plots due to high density, wear resistance, and low maintenance requirements. Sowing can be carried out from spring to early September, with planting depth of 1–1.5 cm along and across the plot. With proper cultivation, the plant provides high-quality green feed, grass meal, silage, and seeds.
