Fescue NORDIC

Nordik Fescue: Danish Breeding for High-Productivity Forage

The Nordik tall fescue variety from the Danish company DLF is a strategic choice for farms focused on maximizing pasture and hay yield with minimal agronomic risks. In the face of climate instability, this variety has proven itself as a robust tool for establishing long-term forage stands capable of maintaining productivity even in challenging soil conditions.

Practical Field Application

• Intensive Grazing Management: With high tolerance to frequent grazing and rapid regrowth cycles, Nordik is optimized for farms utilizing rotational grazing systems.
• High-Quality Fodder Production: The variety produces a dense biomass with excellent nutritional density, ensuring high-grade hay or silage yield.
• Soil Conservation and Stabilization: An extensive root system makes this variety essential for stabilizing slopes and managing erosion-prone areas.

By choosing genetics from DLF Seeds A/S, producers gain the benefit of high seed purity and predictable germination rates. Unlike standard varieties, Nordik exhibits a strong 'spring vigor,' initiating growth earlier in the season. This is critical for hitting tight harvest windows and maximizing the yield of the first cut. The variety also shows superior drought tolerance, maintaining vegetative growth during dry spells, which ensures a consistent and reliable forage supply chain for your agricultural operation.
