BOREAL is a high-yielding barley variety intended for cultivation in moderate climatic conditions. The seeds are characterized by a bright red grain color and medium density, ensuring good shrinkage on normal moist soils.
The variety is distinguished by its high yield: up to 8–9 tons/hectare is achieved with optimal sowing. Large grains with good density are easy to process during mechanical harvesting and ensure a stable output of product. Barley "BOREAL" is also suitable for use as a fodder crop due to the high nutritional value of the seeds.
For successful cultivation, it is recommended to sow during the period of 15–20 °C on soils with pH 5.5–7.0 with moderate moisture (60–70% of the maximum possible). An important factor is proper fertilization: nitrogen fertilizers – 120 g/hectare, phosphorus – 30 g/hectare, potassium – 40 g/hectare. The variety is resistant to major diseases such as powdery mildew and root rots, however, if necessary, fungicides with active substances "pyroxitin" or chloroquine can be applied.
BOREAL also shows good drought and cold resistance, which makes it suitable for planting in the summer-autumn period. With proper care, this variety ensures a stable yield and high quality of product, meeting the needs of both commercial farmers and fodder crop producers.
