Description SHOKINSKAYA
Oat variety «Shokinskaya» is a high-yielding type characterized by resistance to adverse climatic conditions and low fertilizer requirements. The maturation period is 60–70 days after sowing, and seed yield reaches 1.5–2.0 kg/m² under optimal conditions. The mass of 1000 seeds is in the range of 4.8–5.3 g, indicating large, dense grains with good permeability.

Key advantages of the variety include high resistance to powdery smut, rots, powdery mildew, and root mold, as well as protection from pests such as the pollen fly and mites. The grain withstands low temperatures of up to -10 °C in moist soil, making it suitable for cultivation in north-western regions. Due to these characteristics, «Shokinskaya» is widely used as a forage crop, as well as as a grain material for flour production and other products.

For successful sowing, planting is recommended from April 15 to November 30 at soil temperatures from +5 to +10 °C. On moist soils, mulching is useful to retain moisture and reduce weed growth. After seed collection, they should be stored in dry, cool conditions (0 to +4 °C) for up to 12 months, maintaining germination of over 6 months. The «Shokinskaya» variety is valued by farmers for its high yield, adaptability to various soils and climates, and economic efficiency as both a forage and grain crop.
