SUIDINSKAYA

SUIDINSKAYA is a cultivar of meadow fescue (Festuca pratensis Huds.), approved in 1969 and included in the registry of permitted agricultural crops. It belongs to the group of cereal grasses, with a cultivar code of 6201270.

This fescue is distinguished by its high yield – up to 4 tons/hectare under optimal conditions, as well as a strong root system that ensures drought and cold resistance. The average plant height is 70-80 cm, and the large grains have good density, making them suitable for industrial flour and grain production.

SUIDINSKAYA is widely used as a forage crop, as well as in the production of flour, grains, and food products. When cultivating, it is important to consider potential problems: viral diseases (blight Fusarium, 'smut' Ustilagium), bacterial infections ('greening', 'mouldy' Sclerotinia) and pests (caterpillar, midges). Proper agronomic management, timely application of fungicides and insecticides allows to minimize yield losses and maintain high product quality.
