The "Sverdlovskaya" oat variety (Sverdlovskaya 37) is a winter grain and fodder oat with high yield and resilience to adverse conditions. It suits a wide range of soils, from sandy to fertile, but does not grow on very dry sandy substrates. Yield reaches 13.4–20.4 t/ha of green mass and 4.5–6.0 t/ha of dry matter; seed output is about 0.65 t/ha. Under optimal growing conditions, yields up to 12 t/ha are possible.
Key characteristics include high stem density (up to 130 cm), strong tillering, and a robust root system with deep roots, ensuring good lodging resistance. The variety has moderate drought tolerance and high winter hardiness, as well as a low level of disease susceptibility: mosaic, powdery rust, fungi (Rhizoctonia), and bacteria. A protein content of about 12% makes it suitable for flour and bread production.
The variety is recommended for sowing at the end of September–beginning of October at a depth of 1–2 cm, with a sowing rate of 30–40 g/m². To achieve maximum productivity, it is important to adhere to irrigation and fertilization schedules. Seeds are available from the agro-industrial company "KOLOS" with full variety purity certification.
"Sverdlovskaya" is also suitable as a fodder crop due to its high fodder qualities, comparable to timothy grass. Thanks to its resistance to pests and diseases, as well as good climate adaptability, this variety is a reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable harvest with minimal losses.
