Description KARTASHEVSKY
Bluegrass «Kartashevsky» – a one-harvest bluegrass variety with high yield and rich aroma due to essential oil content up to 1.5%. The plant reaches a height of 30 cm to 87 cm depending on growing conditions. The bush is upright with medium density, usually containing 60 to 300 shoots per bush, and has large, dark green leaves slightly covered with a waxy coating.

Disease and pest resistance makes «Kartashevsky» attractive for both private gardeners and commercial enterprises. The plant is not susceptible to powdery mildew and root fungal infections, and is protected against moths and mosquitoes. With proper care – periodic watering and moderate fertilization – dry matter yield can reach 56 t/ha, averaging about 28 t/ha.

The variety is widely applicable: leaves are used in cooking (salads, sauces, drinks) and in medicine as an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent. Thanks to its decorative qualities, bluegrass can serve as an element of landscape design. Watering 2–3 times a week and fertilizing with nitrogen compounds in two stages (50 g/ha in the first half of the year and 30 g/ha in the second) ensure optimal growth. Cutting old leaves improves air circulation and increases crop quality.
