Festuca arundinacea 'Starlett' seeds are a high-quality material for creating dense and durable lawns. The variety is characterized by improved tolerance to adverse conditions, high wear resistance and excellent resistance to rust, making it an ideal choice for both lawn mixes and pasture areas.
Plant growth begins 7-10 days after sowing; height up to 30–35 cm, leaf width 1.5–2 cm. A dense cover with 80–90% coverage is formed after 4-6 weeks. The variety adapts well to both southern regions with hot summers and northern areas with mild winters, due to high drought and heat resistance. Recommended rate – 3 kg of seeds per 100 m² (up to 5 kg/100 m² for large areas), which ensures rapid growth and a dense lawn.
Seeds are suitable for use in mixes, where they make up about 40% of the total mass. In combination with Turfgold ryegrass, Maxima 1 red fescue and Zeptor meadow fescue, a mix is obtained that ensures rapid regeneration, water savings and less maintenance. With proper sowing (3–5 kg/100 m²) without shade and irregular watering, a thick, green lawn is obtained, suitable for gardening, parks, sports fields and public areas.
The variety is characterized by low susceptibility to diseases: powdery mildew, powdery mildew, late blight and root rots. If necessary, fungicides (triamfene) and insecticides (e.g., imidacloprid) are applied. After sowing, it is recommended to water 2-3 l/m² in the first few weeks, and then mulch with compost or peat tablets can be used. Seeds comply with GOST R 52325‑2005 and are supplied in 20 kg bags.
