Fescue RAHELA

Aesthetics and Resilience of Polish Breeding

The 'Rachela' fescue variety from Grunwald Plant Breeding is a product of Polish agricultural science, designed to create an ideal aesthetic ground cover for landscape design. Unlike wild varieties, this cultivar demonstrates remarkable bunching density and color stability throughout the season. With a height of 20–40 cm, it serves as a versatile tool for landscapers, as 'Rachela' maintains its shape without requiring constant trimming.

Advantages for Professional Landscaping

• Compactness: Ideal for border plantings, rock gardens, and stone garden arrangements.
• Color Palette: The vibrant green leaf coloration retains its freshness even under moderate fluctuations in soil moisture.
• Origin: Direct genetics from Hodowla Roslin Grunwald (Grupa IHAR) ensure high adaptability to the Eastern European climate.

The primary advantage of 'Rachela' over its competitors lies in the predictability of its habit. Many decorative grasses are prone to uncontrolled spreading, whereas this variety maintains a tight, dense turf, which significantly reduces maintenance costs. It is the optimal choice for those seeking a balance between natural elegance and low-maintenance requirements.

It should be noted that the variety reaches its full aesthetic potential in well-drained soils. Despite its hardiness, 'Rachela' does not tolerate waterlogging—a common weakness in most grasses that must be considered during planting site preparation. For landscape professionals, this variety serves as a reliable asset for creating structured, long-term planting compositions with minimal risk of crop loss.
