Fescue AGILE

French Breeding for High-Quality Grassland

The Agil fescue variety from the French producer Gie Grass is a breeding achievement focused on creating durable and high-yielding pastures and hayfields. France has historically held a leading position in forage grass breeding, and this variety embodies European agronomic quality standards.

Biological Features and Morphology

Agil belongs to the fescue category, demonstrating stable growth rates across various climatic zones. Key morphological characteristics include:

• Plant height: from 60 to 100 cm, allowing the variety to effectively compete with weeds during the early stages of vegetation.
• Grass stand structure: high shoot density, ensuring resistance to trampling and rapid recovery after mowing.
• Crop type: the variety is distinguished by excellent leafiness, which directly impacts the nutritional value of the produced biomass.

Agricultural Application

Thanks to the breeding work of Gie Grass, Agil has found widespread use both in pure stands and as part of perennial grass mixtures. Key application areas:

• Forage base for livestock: the variety provides a high protein yield per hectare.
• Reclamation and landscaping: the variety's ability to adapt to different soil types makes it a versatile tool for soil fertility restoration and erosion control.
• Intensive use: Agil shows excellent responsiveness to fertilization, allowing farmers to plan multiple cuts per season.

Choosing original Gie Grass breeding guarantees crop predictability and adherence to stated characteristics. Agil is an investment in sustainable forage production, where both volume and the quality of plant raw materials, backed by the long-standing reputation of the French agricultural school, are paramount.
