Fescue Rafael

The Benchmark for Durability: Rafael Tall Fescue

Establishing a high-quality turf under heavy traffic conditions requires top-tier genetic material. The Rafael tall fescue variety, developed by the German breeding powerhouse Deutsche Saatveredelung (DSV), is engineered specifically for sites where aesthetics must coexist with superior resilience.

Why Rafael Stands Out

Unlike standard lawn mixtures that lose density and color under mechanical stress, Rafael maintains exceptional structural integrity. Its primary advantage lies in an extensive root system, a hallmark of premium fescue breeding, which provides several key benefits:

• High Wear Tolerance: The turf remains resilient and upright even after heavy usage or recreational activity.
• Drought Resilience: Due to its deep-reaching roots, the plant efficiently sources moisture from deeper soil layers, reducing irrigation needs.
• Consistent Color: A deep, lush green hue that persists throughout the entire growing season.

The German breeding expertise of Deutsche Saatveredelung ensures that Rafael meets the highest standards for performance. It is the ideal choice for public parks, recreational areas, and residential lawns that endure higher-than-average traffic. Choosing Rafael means investing in a lawn that requires significantly less repair and overseeding compared to less robust varieties.

Maintenance and Application

Rafael is designed for longevity. While the variety is naturally hardy, regular mowing is essential to maintain a dense, uniform sward. It is the perfect solution for landscape professionals and homeowners who prioritize long-term durability over short-lived, high-maintenance ornamental alternatives.
