DEBUSSY 1 – a thin-leaved hybrid ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) with rich dark green leaf color and high turf density. The plant is characterized by excellent resistance to red thread, good disease resistance, and the ability to maintain its appearance without frequent damage. Due to its thin leaf structure, its mowing is simplified, and animal palatability is increased.
The variety is suitable for both lawn and sports field seeding, as well as as a forage crop. In the first season, plant height can reach 30 cm, but usually is 20–25 cm, which provides good shortness and a thick moss-like layer. Dense grass easily forms decorative lawns, and the dark green color with a slight yellowish tint makes it attractive for sports and landscape projects.
DEBUSSY 1 demonstrates high yield and cold resistance (from +5 °C to +30 °C, withstands frosts 0–10 °C) and moderate droughts thanks to a well-developed root system. It adapts well to various soils – clayey, sandy, and even difficult ones, and also maintains decorativeness for 15–20 years with proper care. For seeding, loose loosening of the soil, sowing 20–25 g/m², and regular watering in the first weeks after planting is recommended. Care includes moderate mowing to 5 cm and mulching.
As a forage grass, DEBUSSY 1 is suitable for producing hay, silage, and pastures due to its high protein and fiber content. High yield allows its use in cattle breeding, and resistance to diseases (powdery mildew, fungal damage) reduces the need for preventive measures in a humid climate.
