Tomahawk is a tall fescue with wide leaves and a bright dark green shade, which grows rapidly even on hot summer days. Thanks to its wide and deep root system, the plant is resistant to drought and high temperatures, as well as able to withstand periodic waterlogging. The seeds are well sorted on poor, light and sandy soils, which makes them suitable for sowing under conditions of limited nutrition.
The lawn made of fescue "Tomahawk" differs in durability and high stem density, which is why it is suitable both for sports fields (football fields, playgrounds) and for decorative landscaping - parks, embankments, recreation areas. The plant is quickly restored after mowing, and its leaves retain their bright color throughout the season.
Tomahawk is also valued as a fodder crop: with proper care, it can be used for the production of silage and pasture hay. The hay yield is 50-70 c/ha, and the content of digestible protein is 3-4 kg per 100 kg of hay. Seeds are available in 5 kg packages, which is convenient for commercial sowing and home use.
