Fescue CATRINE

German Breeding for the Perfect Lawn

The sheep's fescue 'Katherine' (Kэтрин) by the renowned German breeding house Deutsche Saatveredelung (DSV) stands as a reliable solution for creating high-quality turf. Developed in Germany, this variety is tailored for professional use in decorative landscaping and garden design, where both aesthetic appeal and plant endurance are paramount.

Agronomic Characteristics and Application

The primary value of 'Katherine' lies in its biological resilience. While sheep's fescue is naturally adept at adapting to nutrient-poor soils, DSV’s breeding has elevated these traits significantly. The variety exhibits high wear resistance, making it an excellent choice for areas with moderate foot traffic, where other decorative grasses might struggle to maintain their appearance.

Technical specifications of the product:

• Species: Sheep's fescue (Festuca ovina).
• Germination speed: 7–14 days under favorable conditions.
• Seeding rate: 30–40 g/m².
• Purpose: Creation of a dense, aesthetically pleasing lawn.

Thanks to its unique genetics, 'Katherine' produces a dense stand of grass with the fine-leaf texture characteristic of fescue. It withstands drought periods well and requires minimal maintenance, which is a decisive factor when selecting seed for public parks or private gardens.

Why Choose DSV Seeds?

Deutsche Saatveredelung guarantees seed purity and high germination rates. By investing in 'Katherine', landscape professionals ensure a predictable result: uniform ground cover that resists mechanical stress and retains its decorative quality throughout the entire season. Adhering strictly to the recommended seeding rate of 30–40 g/m² results in a thick, healthy sod that naturally discourages weed growth and ensures the long-term longevity of the lawn without the need for annual overseeding.
