Chancellor

The 'Chancellor' oatgrass variety is a turfgrass hybrid possessing resistance to adverse climatic conditions thanks to hexaploidy and anthocyanin leaf pigmentation. Medium-sized plants (no more than 30–90 cm) have narrow, medium-length leaves with bright-red or dark-green coloration that persists for the second year of sowing. Such a color palette makes the lawn aesthetically attractive in both decorative and sports conditions.

The texture of 'Chancellor' is characterized by medium-heavy turf density, ensuring good resistance to mechanical wear on fields. The root system is weak, but with proper sowing (in spring or autumn), plants quickly establish and form a dense layer capable of withstanding intensive use. The variety demonstrates moderate disease resistance: slight rust and powdery mildew are possible, but root rot manifestations are minimal.

For cultivation, sowing is recommended during spring or autumn periods at 10–15 °C on moist, fertile soil. Moderate fertilization and regular watering will ensure optimal growth and maintenance of the bright-red anthocyanin leaf hue. Thanks to drought resistance and frost hardiness up to –30 °C, 'Chancellor' is suitable for a wide range of climatic zones, including moderate and cold regions. When following care recommendations, the lawn maintains a dense structure and rich color throughout the season, requiring minimal maintenance efforts.
