PARAIZO is an ornamental oatgrass, growing from 10 to 20 cm in height, which quickly fills space with a dense, compact turf and creates a lawn effect thanks to its bright red earheads appearing in June. The plant has a creeping root system penetrating up to one meter deep, ensuring drought resistance and allowing its use as a ground cover between shrubs, trees, or in containers with good drainage.
PARAIZO is easily grown on various soil types – from completely dry to well-drained garden soils. It requires moderate watering and sunlight; preferably place the plant on the light side of the plot. For the first sowing, it is recommended to plant in early spring when soil temperature reaches 10 °C, and after the first year – if necessary, mulch with small stones to suppress weeds.
The ornamental properties of the oatgrass make it an ideal choice for landscape compositions: it can serve as a border plant, an ornament for alpine and rock gardens, as well as an element of front gardens. Thanks to its bright earheads, PARAIZO replaces a traditional lawn, giving the garden a lively and rich appearance, while ensuring low need for fertilizers and care.
