Fescue Mentor

A Reliable Foundation for Your Lawn

The ‘Mentor’ sheep fescue (Festuca ovina), developed by the German company Deutsche Saatveredelung, is the top choice for those prioritizing durability and low maintenance.

Performance and Maintenance

The primary advantage of ‘Mentor’ is its restrained growth habit. With a plant height of 20–40 cm, it significantly reduces the mowing frequency compared to standard bluegrass lawns. For a property owner, this translates directly into saved time and reduced equipment wear.

• Wear Tolerance: Despite its fine, elegant appearance, this fescue exhibits high resistance to trampling. It performs excellently in areas with moderate traffic, maintaining a dense turf structure even under regular use.
• Decorative Qualities: The deep dark-green color of the leaves persists throughout the season. This makes the variety ideal for creating a dense, professional-looking 'carpet' that remains aesthetically pleasing even with minimal irrigation.
• Durability: The variety shows remarkable adaptability to nutrient-poor soils, making it extremely hardy in real-world conditions where high-input management is not feasible.

If you are looking for a variety that does not require constant intervention, heavy fertilization, or complex watering schedules, ‘Mentor’ is an essential tool for maintaining pristine outdoor areas with minimal effort.
