Wheat variety Panna is an extra-strong, mid-season type with a vegetation period of 273 to 280 days. This high-yielding variety features a short stem, 67 to 84 cm long, and high productive tillering — one plant forms 12 to 37 productive stems. The 1000-grain weight ranges from 43.0 to 55.6 g, protein content is 13.8–14.7%, and gluten content is 33–34%. The variety is highly resistant to frost and drought, as well as winter and heat stress, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, including Forest Steppe, Polissia, and Steppe. Yield reaches 58.8 c/ha in Steppe, 69.3 c/ha in Forest Steppe, and 59.8 c/ha in Polissia.
Panna exhibits strong resistance to major wheat diseases such as brown, stem, and yellow rust, powdery mildew, hard and fusarium, as well as tolerance to leaf septoria, powdery mildew, and root rots. Due to its strong straw, the variety is resistant to lodging and does not require fungicide application during the vegetation period. It competes well with weeds and is suitable for organic farming, confirmed by its high resistance to pests and diseases.
Moreover, wheat Panna can be used not only in agriculture but also for decorative purposes. Natural, uncolored ears 7–9 cm long and about 55 cm in total length are ideal for interior decoration, ikebana, floral and edible arrangements with dried fruits, photo zones, wall hangings, and greeting cards. Such dried flowers are in demand in creative workshops, children's groups, and educational institutions for various crafts and gifts.
