Winter Wheat MIP Kniazhna

Winter wheat MIP Kniazhna is a high-yielding, mid-maturing variety registered in 2017 and recommended for cultivation in the Polissia, forest-steppe, and steppe zones. This variety belongs to the erythrospermum group and is characterized by high cold resistance and drought tolerance, enabling it to achieve high yields even under harsh winter conditions. MIP Kniazhna features a strong root system and thick stems, which contribute to resistance against lodging, shattering, and grain sprouting in the ear.

The variety exhibits resistance to major wheat diseases, including powdery mildew, root rots, brown rust, leaf septoria, and Fusarium head blight, as well as moderate resistance to hard smut. The grain test weight is 829 g/l, indicating high raw material quality. Key indicators include crude protein content ranging from 13.8–15.2% and crude gluten content from 26.7 to 28.9%, ensuring high nutritional value and technological properties of the grain.

MIP Kniazhna is intended for use in the grain sector and possesses valuable quality characteristics. The flour strength varies from 280 to 360 arbitrary units, and loaf volume reaches up to 900 cm³, making this variety attractive for the bakery industry. Wheat responds positively to high levels of mineral nutrition, which promotes maximum potential expression and yield potential ranging from 7.0 to 11.0 t/ha according to data from various state centers.
