Wheat variety Lennox — a high-quality, awnless winter wheat variety of German selection, which has earned recognition for its stable yield and drought resistance. This variety is characterized by medium plant height and early heading, allowing effective use of soil moisture. Lennox has a medium ripening speed and high bread yield from flour, making it popular in the bakery industry. Actual yield in Ukraine reaches up to 85 centners per hectare, while in dry regions it consistently amounts to 50-65 centners per hectare.
The wheat of Lennox variety has high quality indicators: falling number — 7 points, sedimentation — 9, protein content — 7, flour yield — 6, bread volume yield — 9 points. The variety demonstrates good resistance to major diseases such as rust, septoria leaf and spike blotch, powdery mildew, and Fusarium spike, with ratings from 6 to 8 points. Moreover, Lennox exhibits high resistance to stress conditions, including drought (8 points) and winter hardiness (6 points).
Wheat is one of the most widespread cereal crops, and to achieve maximum yield, it is important to follow agronomic norms at all stages of its vegetation — from germination and tillering to heading and ripening. It should be noted that wheat flowering occurs in June-July, and during this period allergic reactions to pollen, as well as cross-reactions with other cereal grasses and wheat-based products, may occur. Therefore, when using wheat and its derivatives, potential allergies should be taken into account.
