Wheat variety Moskal is a high-yielding mid-early winter wheat variety developed in Germany and adapted for cultivation in the Polissia and Forest-Steppe zones of Ukraine. The plant features a short stem of medium height, semi-erect bush up to ear emergence, and a medium-dense cylindrical ear 9-11 cm long. Grain is red, oval-egg-shaped, with high gluten content and medium protein content, ensuring good technological qualities for the food industry, including production of groats, pasta, and flour.
The variety exhibits high resistance to major wheat diseases such as septoria, brown and yellow rust, fusarium, and powdery mildew, as well as root rot. Resistance to lodging and shattering is also high, which helps preserve yield. Moskal has good winter hardiness and medium stem strength, with high number of grains per ear and high 1000-grain weight, providing a yield potential up to 140 ц/ha.
For sowing, use 3.0-4.5 million viable seeds per hectare, treated with insecticide-fungicide seed protectants. Sowing period is from September 5 to September 25, with the option of traditional or surface soil treatment. Due to its agronomic and quality characteristics, Moskal is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality wheat yields.
