Potato Fabula

Fabula — mid-early potato variety, developed in the Netherlands, characterized by high yield and good tuber qualities. Vegetation period ranges from 115 to 125 days, with marketable harvest possible as early as 75-90 days after planting. Plants are upright, tall or medium, with strongly branching stems and olive-green semi-open leaves. Flowers are large, red-purple. Each plant produces 6 to 8 oval tubers, weighing 120 to 145 grams.

Fabula tubers have light-yellow or flesh-colored skin and yellow flesh with dense texture, containing 10.2 to 12.6% starch. They retain shape well during thermal processing and are minimally disintegrate, making them versatile in cooking: suitable for frying, baking, deep-frying, and boiling in skins. Due to their large, uniform tubers, this variety is ideal for traditional markets and various culinary preparations.

Fabula's special advantage is its high resistance to adverse conditions and diseases. It demonstrates good drought tolerance and mechanical damage resistance. It is resistant to such diseases as late blight, potato cyst nematode, common scab, viruses Y and PLRV, as well as to blue mold. These qualities make Fabula a popular choice among potato growers, especially in hot and dry regions.
