Potato Atol

French quality standards: why professionals choose 'Atol'

French selection from Bretagne Plants Innovation has firmly established itself in the portfolios of farms focused on the commercial market. The 'Atol' potato variety is a solution for those seeking a balance between a presentable appearance and high resistance to field diseases.

Agrotechnics and Crop Protection

The main practical value of 'Atol' lies in its comprehensive immune system. In intensive farming, where late blight and nematodes can destroy up to half of the harvest, this variety demonstrates enviable stability. Key protection indicators:

• Full resistance to potato wart, allowing the variety to be planted in fields with problematic phytosanitary conditions.
• High resistance to potato cyst nematode.
• Strong immunity against potato leafroll virus, which is critical when maintaining one's own seed stock.
• Medium sensitivity to late blight, which requires scheduled treatments but yields predictable results.

Logistics and Marketability

The variety belongs to the table potato segment, which imposes specific requirements on the tuber. With a weight of 50 to 130 grams, 'Atol' fits perfectly into standard retail packaging. The red skin, combined with shallow eyes, significantly simplifies the process of automatic washing and peeling on sorting lines—the tuber has the commercial look required by retail chains.

The yellow flesh has excellent taste qualities, making it popular with both end consumers and processors. The shallow depth of the eyes minimizes waste during primary industrial processing.

Farm Application Scenarios

By choosing 'Atol', agronomists bet on predictability. This variety is optimal for farms working under retail contracts, where not only yield is important, but also the marketable output of tubers of the required caliber. High disease resistance reduces the pesticide budget, and the stable tuber shape allows for the use of machinery for mechanized harvesting with minimal skin damage.
