Soncechko Slobid'skyi — a high-yielding corn variety recommended for cultivation in the steppe zone. It belongs to the mid-ripening group with a vegetation period of 83–92 days. Plants reach a height of 100–110 cm and are characterized by high resistance to lodging, shattering, drought, and melanosis, making this variety a reliable choice for challenging climatic conditions.
The variety was developed by the Institute of Plant Growing named after V.Ya. Yur'ev of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and was registered in the State Register of Varieties in 2016. The seeds, cleaned on the CIMBRIA HELD line, meet all technical requirements of DSTU 2240-93. The seeding rate is 3.2–4.0 million viable seeds per hectare, and agronomic requirements are conventional for corn.
Soncechko Slobid'skyi is distinguished by high grain and grit quality, with a grit yield of 83.2% and a film-forming property of 15.8–16.6%. The maximum yield recorded for this variety is 6.96 t/ha, significantly exceeding standard indicators. This variety is ideal for producing premium grit and ensures stable yields even under unfavorable cultivation conditions.
