Millet Soncechko Slobid'skyi

Stable yields for efficient crop management

Choosing the right millet variety often comes down to finding the balance between yield potential and harvest ease. "Sonechko slobidske," developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute, is designed for farms looking to minimize grain losses during harvesting.

Field performance and technology

• High lodging resistance: This is the critical factor for reducing losses during direct combining. The stem remains sturdy even if the crop is left standing longer than planned, giving agronomists flexibility in the harvest schedule without the risk of shattering.
• Phytosanitary resilience: The variety shows resistance to melanosis, which is vital in regions with high humidity or high disease pressure. This reduces the need for heavy fungicide use and ensures the production of high-quality commodity grain.

Practical application

"Sonechko slobidske" reaches its full potential when placed correctly in a crop rotation, typically following cereals or corn. Its reliable growth cycle helps optimize machinery use, preventing bottlenecks during the peak harvest season. Farmers select this variety for commercial production where the primary goals are a consistent yield and efficient, fully mechanized harvesting that minimizes post-harvest costs like drying and impurity removal.
