Description Kyivskoye 87
Kyivskoye 87 — a medium-early corn variety intended for cultivating grain with high nutritional value. Plants reach a height of 126–143 cm, have a sparse panicle and medium-sized yellow kernels weighing 7.5–8.0 g per 1000 kernels. Kernel moisture content is about 17%, and the grain yield reaches 78–80%. Protein content in the grain reaches up to 14%, making this variety valuable for feed purposes, as well as for hay and monogastric feed production.

The Kyivskoye 87 variety is characterized by high yield — 4.8–5.3 t/ha, and resistance to lodging. It is genetically immune to 8–9 races of smut disease, and resistant to infection by kernel melanosis, ensuring reliable and stable yields. Maturation period is 73–85 days, which is several days earlier than the reference variety Myronovskoye 51.

Recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and Polissia regions. The variety was developed through individual selection under artificial infection by various smut races, allowing the acquisition of a high-yielding and disease-resistant material. Kyivskoye 87 is successfully used both for obtaining grain and for feed purposes, including silage and monogastric feed, making it a versatile and sought-after choice in agriculture.
