Description Skado
Skado is a medium-early sorghum variety widely used for grain production in the food industry and feed production. Plants reach a height of 100 to 120 cm, have medium, semi-erect leaves without anthocyanin pigmentation, and a thick stem. The panicle is long, moderately inclined, and dense, with pale-yellow spikelets. The grain is round, pale-yellow or whitish, with a 1000-seed mass of 8 to 10 grams.

The variety exhibits high drought resistance, adaptability to various weather conditions, and resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew and fusarium. It is also resistant to lodging and shattering, which helps maintain yield. The vegetation period ranges from 86 to 100 days, allowing for medium-early harvests. Skado prefers light, well-drained soils and demonstrates high yield potential — from 3.0 to 4.6 tons per hectare.

Moreover, Skado grain possesses good nutritional and feed qualities, with protein content around 15%. Due to its agronomic characteristics and adaptability, this variety is widely grown across all regions of Ukraine and is popular among farmers.
