Chabanivs'ke — a high-yielding sorghum variety recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine. Plants of medium height (100–120 cm) have compact panicles and yellow grain with a 1000-grain weight of 7.5–8 g. The variety is characterized by early maturity, drought tolerance, resistance to lodging and shattering, ensuring a stable yield of 4.8–5.5 t/ha. Hull content is 17.5–18.0%, and grain milling yield is 76–78%. The grain has an amylopectin type of starch, which affects its quality and nutritional value. This sorghum variety is distinguished by high nutritional value and good taste qualities, making it suitable for producing cereal products as well as animal feed. Its low requirement for soil fertility allows reducing fertilizer costs, which is an important advantage for agricultural producers. In addition, Chabanivs'ke is used in the food industry and for bioethanol production, highlighting its versatility. The variety was registered in 2015 by the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and meets modern requirements of agricultural production. Its resistance to diseases and adverse weather conditions ensures reliability and efficiency in cultivation. Chabanivs'ke is a valuable variety in the medium-maturity group, combining high yield, grain quality, and adaptability to the climatic conditions of the forest-steppe.
