Millet Kazkove Dzherelo

Selection Profile and Genetic Foundation

The 'Dzherelo' (Source) millet variety is a strategic breeding achievement of the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS. The primary focus of its development was to engineer a robust cultivar capable of maintaining high-quality standards regardless of field disease pressure, specifically targeting resistance to melanosis.

Technical Specifications and Resilience

• Resistance Mechanics: The variety features inherent resistance to melanosis, a key factor that prevents kernel discoloration and degradation of grain quality, which is crucial for processing and shelf-life.
• Field Performance: Designed for Ukrainian climatic zones, the variety balances physiological development with high tolerance to environmental stress, ensuring stable performance during the growing season.
• Agronomic Advantages: The integrated resistance profile allows for a reduction in fungicide applications during the heading stage, improving the overall economic efficiency of the crop.

For agricultural producers, selecting 'Dzherelo' means investing in a variety where technical stability meets yield reliability. Its ability to maintain grain integrity under disease-prone conditions makes it an essential tool for farmers looking to produce premium-grade millet with lower production risks.
