Proso of the variety "Nезалежне" is a high-yielding, large-grained variety, registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2017. This variety is characterized by high-quality grain production and bright yellow groats with a yield of 82.9% and a huskiness of 16.6%. The weight of 1000 grains ranges from 7.6 to 8.1 grams, indicating the grain's size and density. The vegetation period of the variety lasts from 88 to 95 days, and plant height reaches 120-135 cm. Plants have a semi-erect, compact, and well-branched structure, which contributes to resistance to grain shattering and lodging. The variety is resistant to common Ukrainian races of rust, particularly the first, fourth, and fifth races, and exhibits low levels of melanosis infection (0.1% to 2.2%). Due to these characteristics, "Nезалежне" is adapted for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Steppe and Polissia. The potential yield of the variety reaches 7 tons per hectare, confirmed by test results at various experimental stations, where maximum yields reached 4.54 t/ha and 6.35 t/ha. High technological performance and resistance to adverse factors make the variety "Nезалежне" attractive for agricultural production, providing stable and high-quality raw material for further processing and consumption.
