Lypin variety «Lybid» – white variant, created at the Chernihiv Institute of Agroindustrial Production by individual selection from the hybrid combination of line 4905/Nosovskiy‑3. It belongs to mid-maturing types and is characterized by high yield indicators: grain product reaches 35–45 t/ha, and green mass – 650–700 t/ha. The internal composition of seeds differs with high protein content (35.9 %) and low alkaloid level (0.028 %), making it a valuable fodder product for animal husbandry. The variety is resistant to fusarium – infection level is only 6.8 %. Recommended sowing density ranges from 0.9 to 1.0 million pieces/ha in row planting and 0.7 million pieces/ha in wide-row. Optimal growing zone – forest-steppe, forest-steppe.
Lypin «Lybid» differs in versatility in terms of agronomy: it adapts well to various soil types and climatic conditions, allowing its use both as a fodder crop and in multi-year crop rotation systems. Plant height ranges from 80 cm to 1.5 m, and white flowers create a decorative effect in the field. Root system penetrates deeply into the soil (up to 2 m), contributing to soil structure improvement and nitrogen fixation.
For successful cultivation, it is necessary to observe a number of agronomic measures: preparation of planting pits of size 30×30×30 cm, deep watering after planting, regular weeding and soil loosening. It is important to timely feed plants with complex mineral fertilizers with high potassium and phosphorus content, as well as conduct preventive treatment against diseases. After flowering ends in September–October, bushes should be divided to maintain productivity. Thanks to its frost resistance, lypin «Lybid» does not require winter covering, however, under severe conditions, the root part can be covered with fallen leaves. This approach ensures stable yield and high protein content in seeds, making the variety in demand both for the feed industry and agricultural systems with high demand for biologically active components.
