Lupin 'Rapsodia' is a white grain variety, early-maturing with a vegetative period of 117 days. It is distinguished by high resistance to fusarium: the level of infection on an infectious background is only 7.6%. As a result, the plant ensures an average seed yield ranging from 3.69 to 4.8 t/ha (maximum – 4.8 t/ha) and green mass within 51–59.6 t/ha. The mass of 1000 grains is 354 g.
The key characteristic of 'Rapsodia' is its high protein content: the content of crude proteins reaches 38.5%. At the same time, the level of alkaloids remains low – only 0.028%, which makes the seeds safe for use as feed and fertilizer material.
The variety is perfectly suited for sowing on soils with low nitrogen content. Thanks to biological nitrogen fixation from the atmosphere, the plant improves soil structure and increases its fertility, which is particularly valuable when growing grain and legume crops within a comprehensive agronomic plan. 'Rapsodia' grows on neutral and slightly acidic soils, and the optimal sowing temperature is from +5 °C, which allows starting cultivation already at the beginning of spring.
