Description MANOVITSKY
White lupin (Lupinus albus L.) is a high-protein grain legume comparable to soy in protein content but surpassing it in yield. Varieties such as 'Manovitsky', 'Start', and others are cultivated in the Central Black Earth Region, Middle Volga, and the North Caucasus, where they demonstrate drought resistance and low production costs. White lupin grain contains up to 40% crude protein, 9% fat, and 11% fiber, and when the hulls are removed, its protein content can reach 50%. Due to the absence of trypsin inhibitors, the grain can be used as feed without thermal treatment.

The 'Manovitsky' variety is early-maturing and has a high 1000-seed mass (350–360 g). Plant height is 60–65 cm, and the growth type is determinate. The flower is blue-white with a black tip of the boat pod, and the grain is white without ornamentation at full maturity. There is no bitter substance in the grain, making it suitable for feed purposes in accordance with GOST 11321-89.

White lupin is distinguished by the ability of its root system to use insoluble soil phosphates and actively fix nitrogen from the atmosphere. This enhances the plant's resistance to adverse conditions and reduces the need for mineral fertilizers. Due to high biological qualities, low cultivation costs, and a wide range of growth, white lupin is becoming a promising alternative to soy for feed and food production.
