The 'Brigantina' lupin variety belongs to the yellow Lupinus luteus L. type, characterized by early maturity and medium plant height, reaching 65–72 cm. The vegetative period ranges from 90 to 98 days, allowing for quick harvest in the summer-autumn season. The plant has a determinate growth type at the second-order branch level, is erect and indeterminate, which ensures resistance to adverse weather conditions.
The 'Brigantina' lupin flower is bright yellow with a dark purple boat tip. Pods of medium length do not split, seeds are gray and decorated with a bright sheaf-shaped ornament. Due to this structure, pods maintain a high dry matter content, and grain yield reaches 1.81–2.09 t/ha, making the variety attractive for both feed production and the food industry.
The variety is of universal purpose: it is suitable for growing for grain, green mass, and silage. The average green mass yield is 67.4 t/ha, and the plant is resistant to fusarium, which increases its commercial value. Due to good plasticity and the ability to withstand sharp temperature fluctuations, 'Brigantina' easily adapts to various agrotechnical conditions, ensuring stable results even with minor seeding management errors.
