Lupin "Desnyansky 2" – a medium-maturing annual variety characterized by a long growing season of 116 days and high productivity in both grain and green mass. Average grain yield is 43.2 c/ha, and green mass is 584 c/ha, exceeding the standard Degach by 4.5 and 139 c/ha, respectively. The variety is distinguished by its resistance to Fusarium, pod cracking, and seed shattering, as well as rapid growth with normal interterminal branching.
Protein content in grain reaches 36.3%, and fat content – 9-10%. In the dry mass of green matter, protein accounts for about 20%. These indicators make "Desnyansky 2" a valuable source of nutrients for livestock and fertilizers. Due to the high nitrogen concentration in the root system, the variety is widely used as a green manure crop: it improves soil structure, increasing nutrient availability for subsequent crops.
The variety is of universal purpose – it can be used as grain, green fodder, silage, or green manure. At research sites, including in the steppes of Crimea, "Desnyansky 2" is used to assess yield, seed quality, and adaptation to various climatic conditions. This confirms its wide applicability and stable agronomic characteristics.
