Fescue SMIRNA

Danish Excellence for Superior Turf

The Smirna red fescue variety from the global industry leader DLF represents a gold standard in lawn maintenance. Developed in Denmark, this variety is highly regarded by landscape professionals for its combination of aesthetic appeal and biological resilience, making it a reliable choice for high-quality turf installations.

Resilience and Aesthetic Quality

The core advantage of Smirna is its robust genetic resistance to powdery mildew. In high-density turf applications where fungal pressure can compromise visual quality, Smirna provides stability and consistent growth. The plant develops a dense, tight sward that maintains deep coloration throughout the growing season, even under moderate environmental stress.
