The "Nahuyevytskyi" ryegrass variety is the result of extensive research by breeders at the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region of the NAAS of Ukraine. Officially registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties in 2021, this variety offers a modern solution for farmers focused on increasing the productivity of forage lands. Developed through targeted breeding, "Nahuyevytskyi" is adapted to challenging climatic conditions, making it a reliable asset in crop rotation systems.

Agronomic profile and morphology

The plant is characterized by an erect habit and significant height of the main green mass. In field conditions, the variety shows moderate green leaf coloration without a grayish tint. Important morphological features include the presence of hairs in the leaf sheath and a narrow-lanceolate flag leaf. The long, loose inflorescence with awns ensures optimal seed material formation.

Production performance

"Nahuyevytskyi" is positioned as an early-maturing variety for universal forage use, proving equally effective for both haymaking and intensive grazing. Key characteristics include:

• Hay yield: 8.5–10.0 t/ha.
• Protein content: 12.8–14.2%.
• High winter hardiness and pronounced drought resistance.
• Moderate heading tendency and moderate panicle emergence dynamics.

Due to its low tendency for panicle emergence after mowing, the variety maintains high nutritional value in the aftermath, which is critical for ensuring a stable forage supply throughout the entire growing season.
