Fescue BORODINSKAYA

Resilience in Siberian Climates

The 'Borodinskaya' meadow fescue is a result of selective breeding by the Research Institute of Agricultural Problems of Khakassia, specifically engineered to withstand harsh climatic conditions. The key differentiator of this variety lies in its combined high adaptability to drought periods and its ability to form a dense, leafy forage cover. With plant heights ranging from 10 to 120 cm, the variety offers flexibility for both hay production and grazing lands with varying levels of intensity.

Agronomic Advantages

• Strong tillering energy ensures rapid regrowth after mowing.
• Ecological plasticity allows the variety to maintain productivity on low-nutrient soils where other grass species typically degrade.
• Resistance to lodging facilitates mechanized harvesting, minimizing yield losses.

Who is this variety for?

'Borodinskaya' is an optimal solution for agricultural producers in regions with continental climates, where cold hardiness and resistance to dry winds are critical. It is an ideal choice for operations focused on long-term permanent pastures, as the variety exhibits a robust multi-year growth cycle. A potential trade-off is its moderate spring regrowth speed compared to intensive hybrid varieties, yet this is balanced by its overall hardiness and consistent biomass stability during unfavorable weather cycles.
