Red Fescue «Sigma» – an annual seed plant characterized by dense vegetation cover and a powerful root system. Thanks to its deep-penetrating root system, the fescue can restore soil structure, enhance its fertility, and increase the resilience of agricultural landscapes. The variety ranks first in terms of soil turf formation and turf quality improvement, making it valuable as both a pasture plant and for pure hay sowing.
The yield of the «Sigma» variety is high: from 48 to 50 tons of green mass per hectare with two to three cuts per year. When used for pasture, it achieves 60–70 centners per hectare of dry matter, as well as 400 kg per hectare of seeds. The leaves have an anthocyanin color, are narrow and of medium width without a waxy coating, which gives the plant aesthetic appeal for all types of lawns.
The variety is distinguished by its resistance to rust, powdery mildew, and other soil diseases. It withstands multiple mowing, as well as cold periods and periodic droughts, thanks to high winter hardiness and drought tolerance. The application of «Sigma» fescue covers pasture-hay use, hay production, silage, haylage, lawns, and grass mixtures. The seeds comply with GOST and have certificates confirming their quality and suitability for livestock feeding.
