Oatgrass «GALAS» – high-yield wheat variety intended for cultivation in temperate climatic conditions. The variety belongs to the group of light grains with high protein content (about 12.5%) and low starch content (up to 1.8%). Under optimal conditions, yield reaches 4–6 t/ha, and graininess – 1.5–2.0 t/ha. The growth period is 90–100 days to full maturity, and sowing dates are 15–20 days after the start of vegetation.
«GALAS» is distinguished by high resistance to diseases: strong protection against powdery scab (Fusarium), root and leaf rot, as well as wheat mosaic virus. Leaf color is bright red with shades of green and yellow tones, plant height averages 30–35 cm. Grass density is medium-dense, which ensures good lawn density.
The variety is suitable for a wide range of applications: lawns, pastures, meadow sections and meadow cover. Seed quality is characterized by large (≈1.2–1.4 mm) dense grains with high germination rate. Thanks to the combination of high protein and energy content, «GALAS» provides effective cattle feeding when used as a fodder crop, and also contributes to soil structure improvement.
